Film and Educational project: «Witnesses: In Memory of the Holocaust»

Project «Witnesses» launches its film and educational programme. Now that the distribution phase of the film's life is coming to an end, its creators made the decision to focus on the educational goals of the project.

«From the outset, we have defined «Witnesses» as a complex and multifaceted project made up of a film and its accompanying educational programme. I am happy that today we can positively announce the completion of the filmmaking part of the project – the film is released for distribution in Russian cinemas and is available on most streaming platforms. Right now our goal is to focus on educational events centred around the film».
The first step we are taking in that direction is creating a film and educational networking project «Witnesses: In Memory of the Holocaust». Together with experts, teachers working in formal and non-formal education alike, psychologists and other specialists, we are going to develop an educational programme, teaching and training materials and detailed lesson plans around each of the novellas of the trilogy: «Shoes» for students aged 12 to 14, «Brutus» for students aged 15 to 16, and «Violin» for students aged 17 to 18.
We will partner with the Russian Research and Educational Holocaust Center and Steven Spielberg’s USC Shoah Foundation in order to develop the methodological component of the educational programme.
