Sochi International Film Festival and Awards opened with the screening of «Shoes» and «Brutus», two short films by Konstantin Fam. The first edition of the Festival took place from December 10 to December 16, 2016. «Brutus» was marked by the Special Prize of this young Festival. The extended teaser of the third short film of the trilogy, «Violin», was also presented. 

Sochi International Film Festival and Awards is the first international event that brings together filmmakers from Russia, Britain, and the world, to Sochi. It is a celebration of the art of cinematography, and demonstrate the tremendous power of the international language of film that can overcome confrontation between people, nations and countries. The new film festival has invited leading filmmakers, art and culture figures from Russia, Britain, and other countries. 

Elliot Grove, the founder of the famous Raindance Film Festival, and Vera Glagoleva, a film and theatre actress, film director, producer and screenwriter, became co-chairs of the festival Jury.
